Can I Get A F-1 US Visa As a Male Nurse?
I went for a Visa Interview Here In India. I Stood 4 hours in line and as soon as I got my chance she asked me What are Going For, I said Male Nurse. She said "Are You Sure"! and was shocked.Then She denied Me a visa. Is it possible for me to actually get a F1 visa As A male Nurse? If So What the hell do I say to the Visa Officer ? May You Please Help Me.

Tell them that you are coming as a tourist, if you tell them that you are coming here to work,you will not get a visa, althought they need nurses here very badly,it is harder to get a visa that way. good luck

The US now are pulling professionals nurses even from Thailand because there not enough nurses,almost every single hospital is running with less nurses that they are suppouse to. There not enough people studying nursing careers and in a couple years from now the crisis will be horrible!!!!!!! So if you are a professional nurse (If you are a RN please run!!!) contact your closest USA embassy and see what your suppouse to do (papers,diplomas,etc...) I am a RN and this scenario is my everyday thing. Working double shifts and still my hands are full.

I am a Pharmacy Graduate from India. Which nursing course should i go for to get registered as nurse and then afterwards what is the procedure to file for my Green card and how long this whole process can take? I know i have a lot of questions. A detailed explanation is appreciated. Finally does it all making any sense?? Thank you

You would be best to get a 4 year BSN degree.If you want to work as a nurse in the US you will have to get permission to write the NCLEX and pass it in order to get a nursing license.Getting a green card is much more difficult.Due to retrogression you are looking at 7-8 years wait after you file.Also the economy in the US is in poor shape so even nurses that are citizens are having trouble finding work.

I do believe you are a bit confused about studying in the United States. You cannot just enter, study, and then expect the US government to hand you a green card especially when the unemployment rate for US citizens is in excess of 10%. Instead the process is an incremental process that will change each year so I will not go into too much detail because of the risk that it will change. For starters you will need to contact the universities that you are interested in attending and inquire about foreign student admissions. Most likely you will have to take TOEFL and if you mean by Pharmacy graduate that you have a BPharm degree then it is possible that you will not have to take the ACT or SAT. If you to have a bachelors in pharmacy, BPharm then doing an associates may not be an option and you may have to do the BSN (bachelors of science in nursing). As you begin to apply to each nursing you that you are interested in attending you will have to begin to search for funding sources as you will not be eligible for US government financial aid. If you are accepted unconditionally then you can apply for a student visa. Student visas can take a while to get and I have heard that they can, in some cases, take up to a year to get. Provided you can get the funding, you can get the visa, and graduate then the next challenge for you will be applying for a work permit. Rules, jobs eligible, education needed, and who can qualify changes quite frequently plus this is a few years into the future. The best advice I can give is to contact the nearest US Consulate to ask about the process for applying to a US university and then how you can become eligible to work in the US after completing your degree.

As far as I know, any degree is valid, subject to a couple of courses in the US.. You may be required to complete a certain "core curriculum," such as taking 2 semesters of US and State government, respectively, and US history perhaps.

I hope none as too many others are invading America as it is. Americans do not have jobs and benefits because of all the immigrants from other countries. Sorry being honest.

Anything medical is going to require you to take state board exams...But I agree with the previous poster.. enough Indian doctors here already that can't even speak understandable English.

Uh... it's not the fault of the educated Indians that most Americans are too lazy, too poor or just not smart enough to get into the medical or other professional fields so hospitals here need to hire foreigners (mainly Indians and Russians) to get enough doctors lol.

Uh... it's not the fault of the educated Indians that most Americans are too lazy, too poor or just not smart enough to get into the medical or other professional fields so hospitals here need to hire foreigners (mainly Indians and Russians) to get enough doctors lol.

I am a Registered Nurse in India I have done General Nursing and Midwifery 3 years fulltime diploma course, and I have 5 years plus experience. Recently I have also given academic IELTS exam and scored overall 6.0 band (Listening 6, Reading 5.5, Writing 5.5, Speaking 6). I want to migrate to Canada with my husband and son. I am planning to apply under “Federal Skilled Worker immigration†I have following queries. I would be grateful if you could provide me answers for these questions or tell me any other way to work in Canada as Nurse. I wouldn't consider Libya if I were you. Look for what happened to the Bulgarian nurses in this country. Switzerland is a much more secure and comfortable place to go. As Filipino, avoid Arabic countries by all means! For Filipino girls and women are highly disregarded and barely considered as more than slaves in those countries. Then same applies to Asian women in general.

Is this your own personal opinion? Nurses are respected all over the world. Many people would die needlessly if there were no nurses. I really think your question must be some sort of joke.

Its the pay! theres ample of respect but most nurses get paid as little as Rs. 5000-15000 in a place like mumbai where rent goes up to 10,000-30,000 Professions like nurses, doctors, engineers dont get paid at all!.... the only way to make a good living in India is to start a business or become a govt servant like IPS, IAS, or a politician and get as corrupt as u can. Educated and qualified people have no value! there are tonnes of them and competition is so much that the players get away by paying them peanuts!

Honey, you don't "get an RN"...you get a degree in nursing to begin with. After you have graduated from either an Associate or Bachelor Degree program in Nursing, you are eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam. Once you pass it, your state will issue you a nursing license. Remember, RN's here in the US are far more educated and have far more duties than nurses in countries such as India, or even those in Eastern Europe. Your best bet is to contact the American Nurses Association at www.nursingworld.org and see if they can provide you with the information specific to your request.

What benefits are available due to the nursing shortage? Can she get a green card enabling her to work or what? Anybody know? Do you know of any grants or scholarships available? One needs $930 next week for tuition and I dont have it. the other needs the same in August and I don't have that either . Past donors have no money . I have 27 orphan daughters who adopted me and I've been giving all expense paid degrees to most while i am unemployed since 1970 depending on Jesus and divine providence for my needs then give around half of that to give happiness and security to otherwise helpless orphan girls mostly, in south India. 5 just earned master's degrees and got jobs in a week or two. Know of any help or scholarships available for orphans there? I buy houses for orphan mothers there; 180 so far; like to help?

I'm a nurse, and a friend of mine, who's also a nurse just heard this. That the reason so many doctors in the US from India is because they are accepted into medical school right out of high school (no 4 years of college and a BS first) and become doctors after only 4-6 years (total) of college. Is this true???

A lot of countries have different educational systems than ours. In some European countries, after secondary school you pick from a bachelor's, masters, or PhD program and that is what you get for life. I have coworkers who were doctors in China. They only had 4 years of medical school, focused on what kind of medicine they would practice. They did not take all the prerequisites that pre-med students take in America, and as such their Chinese medical degrees are not good enough to be a doctor here. I would assume that the medical schools in India are pretty good, since they are based on British education. But also, many Indians born here grow up to become doctors.

In some European countries, after secondary school you pick from a bachelor's, masters, or PhD program and that is what you get for life. I have coworkers who were doctors in China. They only had 4 years of medical school, focused on what kind of medicine they would practice. They did not take all the prerequisites that pre-med students take in America, and as such their Chinese medical degrees are not good enough to be a doctor here. I would assume that the medical schools in India are pretty good, since they are based on British education. But also, many Indians born here grow up to become doctors.

depends on which part of india - nursing is a lot more prevalent in kerala. whilst ur studying u should get into a dorm or so - education costs would nto be high, but u should check with the school AM

Girl,India is large and you should be more specific about the city you wanna move in.Delhi,Mumbai,Bangalore are some good city to live in India. The cost of living in these cities are around USD 400-450 for an decent lifestyle. (you can hire an apartment for $150). I have no idea about the quality of education in any of the nursing colleges .But,I am sure,they wouldn't be up to the western standards. Better come around for a visit first, take a close look and make up your mind if that is really what you want or need. Standards in hospitals in India are nowhere compared to western standards. The average facilities in 98% of all hospitals here are - well, third world. Customs and procedures in nursing partly are quite different from western practices. For example, when someone checks into a hospital, his family will guard and watch over him, not nurses. The job profile of nurses here is a little different. Also the learning culture is entirely different, one is supposed to listen - asking questions is seen as questioning the competence of the guru. Teaching is not very practical too, you would need to memorize all kinds of details but you will not develop an understanding for the context. There may be a few exceptions, but that is, by and large, the rule. Many colleges here also teach in their local language, not in english. I recommend you only look at the best hospitals - beware of going below that standard. One of the very best which also educates nurses is KIMS in Trivandrum, Kerala - see http://www.kimskerala.com/academics.html - This is a decent hospital, I have been there a number of times. It is actually the only really clean and hygienic hospital I have seen in India. However, education there will not be cheap and whether you qualify for admission is yet another question. If you can not get into such a place - then forget about it, you would just waste your time. Cost of living depends on your requirements, you can somehow sustain yourself starting around 400 USD a month but better budget 600-700 USD to be safe. Double that for Mumbai and Delhi unless you want to live in a really bad place. Good luck!

One of the Hospital in Chennai India where I applied online has called me and ask me to come there with a tourist visa for the job interview as a staff nurse. And if I will pass the interview, and will be qualified for the job, they will give me the necessary documents for the processing of my work visa and permit here in the Philippines. So, I have to go back to the Philippines to process my work permit and visa here in the Philippines

My son is 3 months old . I like to breast feed my son. But my milk is insufficient. So i started giving him formula along with mine from the 1st month itself. can i improve my milk production now. I prefer natural means rather than medicines.

I used sesame seeds, fenugreek, fennel, blessed thistle, and oats, myself. The sesame seeds had an over night effect (eat them by the handful). The herbs took about three days to have an effect. I also used an SNS. This is a special feeder with a tube so you can feed your baby formula and nurse at the same time. The SNS had the greatest effect on my supply though it took the longest. I noticed a difference after about a week, but then it just kept improving my supply until I didn't need to supplement anymore. I think you would have to order one from the U.S., but it's worth it. I got the cheap temporary one that you are supposed to throw away after 24 hours and used it for about 2 months. I recommend signing up for the MOBI breastfeeding group that's specifically for moms having trouble. your questions have a lot of facts missing. please give the full blood report , including hb count ,esr etc. any sugar or bp complications ? i can just suggest you one safe and quick remedy for the time being. sitoophaladi chooran 60 gms kharva pishti 2.5 gms praval pishti 10 gms mix them thoroughly and then take one tea spoon (3gms) of this powder along with cow ghee . twice a day before food. if other complications are not their , i surely belife the bleeding would stop almost instantly. give her a very mild laxation with triphala gritha every day early morning.i.e. 1 table spoon with very mild warm water. her hb count is very important as there is rakthastrav (bleeding). if hb is low then start lohasava 2tsp thrice daily after food with equal quantity of water. continue this for 11days these are available at any good ayurvedic medicine store.

I got my RN in the US. Can i go to India and get a nursing job there
I got my RN in the US. Can i go to India and get a nursing job there?
I got my RN recently in the United States. I really want to go to India and I am working on learning Hindi. How hard would it be for me to go to India (anywhere) and get a nursing job? I would love to volunteer but don't have the money to do that, so I am thinking about going there and getting a real job for pay. Thanks for any feedback.

Are there any hospitals in chicago that sponsors Green Card to new RN ( Registered Nurse) ?
Hello all, Thank u for helping me.. I have just passed my NCLEX ( Registered Nurse Exams) . I am from India here in a student visa. I want to know which hopsitals in Illinois ( Chicago) will help me sponsor a Green Card for me if i work for them. Can one one tell me which is the best city to find work for foreign nurse so that i can get my Green Card very soon. Thanking you once again.

Nurses are one of the most critically undermanned professions in the country right now. You should be able to find something in any city you choose. Go to www.google.com and type in "health care nurse" and start writing.

Stroger Hospital is run by the county that would be a good place to start.

My wife is an RN. Most hospitals wont sponsor but all agencies do..Contact any nursing agency and they'll put you to work with a contract and temp housing till you get established.
