ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN NURSING OR SOMETHING ELSE?
I am a Pharmacy Graduate from India. Which nursing course should i go for to get registered as nurse and then afterwards what is the procedure to file for my Green card and how long this whole process can take? I know i have a lot of questions. A detailed explanation is appreciated. Finally does it all making any sense?? Thank you

You would be best to get a 4 year BSN degree.If you want to work as a nurse in the US you will have to get permission to write the NCLEX and pass it in order to get a nursing license.Getting a green card is much more difficult.Due to retrogression you are looking at 7-8 years wait after you file.Also the economy in the US is in poor shape so even nurses that are citizens are having trouble finding work.

I do believe you are a bit confused about studying in the United States. You cannot just enter, study, and then expect the US government to hand you a green card especially when the unemployment rate for US citizens is in excess of 10%. Instead the process is an incremental process that will change each year so I will not go into too much detail because of the risk that it will change. For starters you will need to contact the universities that you are interested in attending and inquire about foreign student admissions. Most likely you will have to take TOEFL and if you mean by Pharmacy graduate that you have a BPharm degree then it is possible that you will not have to take the ACT or SAT. If you to have a bachelors in pharmacy, BPharm then doing an associates may not be an option and you may have to do the BSN (bachelors of science in nursing). As you begin to apply to each nursing you that you are interested in attending you will have to begin to search for funding sources as you will not be eligible for US government financial aid. If you are accepted unconditionally then you can apply for a student visa. Student visas can take a while to get and I have heard that they can, in some cases, take up to a year to get. Provided you can get the funding, you can get the visa, and graduate then the next challenge for you will be applying for a work permit. Rules, jobs eligible, education needed, and who can qualify changes quite frequently plus this is a few years into the future. The best advice I can give is to contact the nearest US Consulate to ask about the process for applying to a US university and then how you can become eligible to work in the US after completing your degree.

please suggest if u have any job opportunites in the field of Nursing in India, Preferably Bangalore or Mumbai.....tried all the job engines :( i need a job bad!!!

Can I suggest you...Y not looking outside India, there are many jobs, IN UAE, UK, Australia, USA, Canada and many more in Africa... I can advice you to try go out and earn in USD...you know according to survey USA & Canada pay highest rate per hour for Nursing... check the websites Good Luck

Which degree from India is valid to get job in US
Which degree from India is valid to get job in US?
BCA, MCA, MS Biochem, Nursing., etc., any of these require additional education to get job in US?

As far as I know, any degree is valid, subject to a couple of courses in the US.. You may be required to complete a certain "core curriculum," such as taking 2 semesters of US and State government, respectively, and US history perhaps.
2 :
I hope none as too many others are invading America as it is. Americans do not have jobs and benefits because of all the immigrants from other countries. Sorry being honest.
3 :
Anything medical is going to require you to take state board exams...But I agree with the previous poster.. enough Indian doctors here already that can't even speak understandable English.
4 :
Uh... it's not the fault of the educated Indians that most Americans are too lazy, too poor or just not smart enough to get into the medical or other professional fields so hospitals here need to hire foreigners (mainly Indians and Russians) to get enough doctors lol.
