None of the colleges/Universities offering Post B.Sc or M.Sc Nursing in Distance Mode. As per new UGC rules no professional courses are recognised under distance/correspondence mode. Ur sister can enroll into online courses by UK universities for career growth. Good Luck

first off you need to learn to write in better english so take a night class at your local community college. With out it you may not get a job even if you are quailfied, as a CNA you will be required to chart on the people you take care of. Then contact the nursing homes in your area to see if they are hiring or get the news paper and look in the clasified ads under employment. Start appling for the openings you are interseted in and wait for an interview. DO YOU HAVE A WORK PERMIT? OR A VISA? OR A GREEN CARD?

suggestions to improve milk supply for a nursing mom in india

suggestions to improve milk supply for a nursing mom in india?
My son is 3 months old . I like to breast feed my son. But my milk is insufficient. So i started giving him formula along with mine from the 1st month itself. can i improve my milk production now. I prefer natural means rather than medicines.

Stop using formula and keep breastfeeding your son. The more you feed him, the more milk you will produce.
2 :
if u r non vegetarian have some fish daily that will help in increasing milk . if u r vegetarian u can have mewa laddo that means nuts fried in ghee ,mixed with jaggergy and made as laddos. secondly feed for more time that will also increase breast milk. the more u feed the more u get.
3 :
yes u can improve your milk production. I tell u a desi formula. take some quantity of snuff roast it on TWA. add bit Sugar as ur ta st and eat this mixture regularly and drink snuff boiled milk regular three time in a day. you will definite improve your milk production.
4 :
try milk-plus just google it
5 :
Garlic, sesame seeds, alfalfa, nettle, blessed thistle, goat̢۪s rue, red raspberry leaf, fenugreek, oats, nuts, ginger, brewer̢۪s yeast, green papaya, carrots, umbel seeds like fennel, anise, and dill are foods and herbs that can help build milk supply. I used sesame seeds, fenugreek, fennel, blessed thistle, and oats, myself. The sesame seeds had an over night effect (eat them by the handful). The herbs took about three days to have an effect. I also used an SNS. This is a special feeder with a tube so you can feed your baby formula and nurse at the same time. The SNS had the greatest effect on my supply though it took the longest. I noticed a difference after about a week, but then it just kept improving my supply until I didn't need to supplement anymore. I think you would have to order one from the U.S., but it's worth it. I got the cheap temporary one that you are supposed to throw away after 24 hours and used it for about 2 months. I recommend signing up for the MOBI breastfeeding group that's specifically for moms having trouble. Many of them have struggled with low supply and they can answer just about any question you have. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/mobi/
6 :
Keep breastfeeding as often as possible. If you are pumping, pump every 2 to 3 hours. Breastea helped my milk supply a lot. You can get it online at http://www.breastea.com

You'll find 2-year nursing programs in most community colleges. There are also some hospital nursing schools. You can find 2-year schools near you with RN programs here: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/adv_typeofschool.jsp Look for an RN (registered nursing) program rather than an LPN (licensedpractical nursing) or LVN (licensed vocational nursing) program. Sometimes those are 1-year programs, but often they're 2 years. If you're going to spend 2 years, you might as well get the better qualifications, which lead to better paying jobs. The main difference between and RN and an LPN/LVN is that the RN can give medicine to patients.

2 :
Very Cheap , If you manage to get admission in Govt. College, [ I got my Engg. Bachelor Degree (04 Yr. Degree course) in 500$ (less than 25000 Rs. only], there it is subsidized by Govt., but entrance exams are tough, However in Private college, admissions are easy to get, but the entire education may cost you between 10,000$ - 20,000$ ( 05 Lacs to 10 Lacs ), you can even get the Bank Loans for that, One can easily get the living accomodation in Metro Cities in 100$ per month for students... Please feel free to ask for more if required.

Can a 24 year old RN with an AS degree become a doctor of nursing and move to India by the age of thirty-five

Can a 24 year old RN with an AS degree become a doctor of nursing and move to India by the age of thirty-five?
That pretty much is my goal in life, I want to get a doctorate in nursing and then settle down in India and help the poor, but I want to start while I'm still young although I am trying to be realistic so I settled on thirty-five. Is this a realistic goal? If not how can I realize this goal? If this is a realistic goal, how should I go about achieving this goal?

yes, you can...just study and work hard
2 :
Yes. If you enrolled in a BSN completion program, that could be done in 18-24 months. There are BSN to DNP programs that are 3-4 years in length, otherwise the traditional route goes you would earn your MSN (2-3 years) then the doctorate (another 2-3 years on top of everything else). So at the most, you're looking at 8 years. 10 years if you took your time. The harder part might be the logistics of getting to India and what you'd do once you got there. Finding an organization to work for or having money of your own saved up to go independently, etc. But it certainly could be done.
3 :
Do you mean you want to become a nurse practitioner? No you cant with an AS degree. You need to get a BS degree to then move on to hire degrees.

Obtaining a Nursing License in India for USA Immigration

Obtaining a Nursing License in India for USA Immigration?
I have completed my BHMS in Indai. I have 2 years of ER experience practicing as a doctor. I will be in the US with my husband in the 3 months. Based on the career options - it seems nursing maybe a way to go. Do I need to complete a nursing course prior to giving the NCLEX-RN? Can I give this exams while I am in the USA and then seek employment in the special category? Do I need to obtain a nursing license from India to smooth the process of applying permanent residence?

I would think you would have to have completed your training and pass the exam in India. Then, there would be another test you would have to pass in the U. S. of A. in order to practice. Otherwise, you would still be considered in school/training.
2 :
Get a nursing license in India. Pass the CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) Exam. Pass the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Exam.

fixing husband's desires

fixing husband's desires?
We are newly married. Though, he is 28 and I am 25 he acts like a 10 year old. We initially decided we will not have any form of sex till I get my degree. Now, two months after marriage he cannot keep that commitment. How can such a person keep lifelong commitment? And, why is he so eager for sex that he cannot wait another two years. He told me he is a virgin so if he has waited for 28 years, why can't he wait for another two? He is behaving like a 10 year old who wants candy adamantly. He asked me if we could do a**l and o**l sex On hearing that I was shocked. He was thinking of me as some call girl. Those forms are forbidden and hardly done in Indian culture. Still, he is mentioning this to me and wants to have this with me. I have sternly refused to yield to his tantrums. I need to complete my degree to get a proper job and he needs to do a second job to earn more money. Instead, he comes home after his first job and does not let me study by asking for sex. How childish can he be? Instead of focusing on things which may help us and our future he is behaving like a weird person. One day when I came home he was watching p0rn. This is beyond belief. He was paying lot of attention to the girl's b00bs and rear ends which were exposed in that p0rn movie. What could be wrong with him? We are from India where women are highly regarded. He told me he never did that when he was a bachelor and now he is doing that. I turned it off and asked him to do some part time work instead of such foolish things. We both have Indian ancestry still he does not seem to know anything. He thinks sex is very important for marriage rather than understanding marriage is a journey in which husband/wife need to help each other. Instead of helping me finish my degree, he is hindering it by his requests not to mention the time he could have spent working/doing investments which would benefit both of us. He told me his newly married friend has sex 5 times a week with his wife who also has a full time job. I am surprised he believes such baloney. The questions are 1. How can I get rid of his obsession with sex? 2. How can I ensure he does not watch p0rn in my absence and does productive work if he has spare time? 3. More importantly, how can I convince him of his responsibilities of marriage like securing our future, getting a house, retirement funds etc...He does not make a six figure income which is pretty normal for his age group people(who are lawyers, investment bankers, pharmacists, nurse anesthesiologists, accounting/finance people). 4. Has anyone else faced such issues? 5. How can I fix it? I am from India where my father behaved responsibly with my mother so I don't understand why my husband is not behaving properly with me? I was thinking of telling him he can have sex with me when he earns more than 150K. This way I will be free till he earns that much(which will take few years) and more money will be better for us only. Would that work? I don't want to discuss this with my family as they will think they have married me to a silly person. Thanks

You can't fix it, you can't change it, you've got to divorce it. Face it, no man would agree to this arrangement if he was sane. So you are driving him insane and that's why he is acting like this. either do him hard and often or leave him alone to find someone else.
2 :
Wow. Your poor husband.
3 :
"I was thinking of telling him he can have sex with me when he earns more than 150K. This way I will be free till he earns that much(which will take few years) and more money will be better for us only. Would that work? I don't want to discuss this with my family as they will think they have married me to a silly person." You are an idiot. He is trying to tell you that he is EXTREMELY HORNY. He wants to have sex with you. Men need sex, like we need food and water. He is telling you that he can't wait. If you don't give him sex he will have no choice but to go get it from somewhere else. An erect penis, hard, standing up in your pants IS PAINFUL. It is a terrible form of torture. IT MUST BE RELIEVED. Telling him you'll have sex when he makes $150K/year is not going to motivate him to make more $, it will just encourage him to leave you for another woman. Even if he doesn make $150K/year, he will remember how you held your pussy hostage and he will forever be bitter. No pussy is worth $150K/year.
4 :
I do hope that you're a troll and that no man is suffering your presence for real.
5 :
Your husband is human and by marrying you his natural hormones have become his biggest curse. He must like you because I would never put up with that. Sex is vital to a marriage and his drive is human nature, not lack of self control. What are you waiting for, good god, its just sex, give him a blow or something if you don't want to take birth control. You can't fix him, he's not broken, Your unatural behavior is driving this. If you don't start meeting his needs the porn behind your back will be sex with another women very soon, sorry
6 :
Hed should hire a prostitute, or call girls or even an escort and do the deed with them. He would be a fool to wait two years ! Why in the hell would you get married if you didn't want to have sex ? Forget the Indian culture, you are in the United States Of America, where a husband should be able to take his wife anytime he wants to..!
7 :
Wow seriously? I'm sorry but the problem isn't with the husband but with you. I agree that marriage is a journey but you are putting a large road block in front of you. If he doesn't get sex from you he may like others have said find it somewhere else. I think if you asked your family they would even be a little shocked at your point of view. Sex may not be what marriage is about but it does play into a happy one. Why exactly did you put the no sex until finished with schooling? Is it because you are afraid to get pregnant? If that is the reason there are contraceptives like the pill, nuva ring, and the good ol' traditional condom.
8 :
he will get it from someone else, just watch, should of taken him up on the anal and oral

Love is blind.
2 :
Why not, they are people too
3 :
I wouldn't go NEAR a Japanese female...Chinese females, though, are another thing.
4 :
I think there are probably no Indian male nurses in Japan. To work in Japan you need a four year degree & a job offer before you get there. Unless you have a special skill a Japanese doesn't have, chances of work are just about zero. I don't believe in sugar coating things. You have a chance, but not a good one.
5 :
lol your bastie guy
6 :
Well, you're not going to be working as a nurse in Japan, so let's get that out of the way. Other than that, you're a guy. If you can attract a female in your own country, you can attract a female in Japan. The language barrier will make it a bit more difficult though.
7 :
What is wrong with the females in your country? they say love is blind but it is not selective as well. Besides you can't speak Japanese and like has already been said, chances of working in Japan is slim/non to existent. You did not think this through.
8 :
How can any of these people here know the answer to a question like this? There are 125 (or 135) mln. people in Japan. Of course every and each of them are have different personalities and preferences. It is definitely probable that you may meet a Japanese female who will like you. It's also probably that you won't. You should just start looking for someone, make friends first etc. I have heard of a Japanese woman marrying a Nepali and of course there must be Japanese women married with Indians that live in India or Japan (that I don't know of). I have also seen many Japanese tourists in India (that maybe means they don't dislike India). So, you should look for a Japanese who is interested in Indian culture.
9 :
Watched too much porn/gravue idols? Getting into a relationship with a girl is tough, getting into a relationship with a girl from an entirely different culture from yours is even tougher. You obviously don't seem to have the maturity to be in a relationship whatsoever, judging from the question that you're posting here.

Are you coming on a spousal visa? Be very sure you have permission to work. Then look for work in your own field. To take a nursing course would take 2 to 4 years of additional college study.

But they always expect too much from me like get qualification degree for nursing etc and do the job and live life happily ever after. ..Im not perfect and i have my own life to live not theires..even my teacher is saying that im not doing well in the course and i dont have the motivation to do it. Its true i dont.. Im just very sick and sad...i feel like im still a child even though im 19, they dont give me my sense of independence and choice..Im not even allowed to have social life/go out late night or have a boyfriend? Its almost like living in a prison..i wish someone could just take me away and show me the meaning of life. I had been staying up the whole night yesterday till 3am..thinking about my life and what i want and i have finally made a decision to do art and follow this route because i cant do nursing job for money if i dont enjoy it from the heart. Now the problem is that when they find this out, they are gonna blow up and there is gonna be tantrums and hassels.. i know that graphic designing job is really complicated and competitive but i know if i work hard i can do it. So i believe in myself ..why cant they? what should i do? do a job that i hate to but has good money or follow my passion and do a job that il enjoy. thanks sorry it was bit long..please give me good answers.

You have to live your own life. It's great to respect the traditions and values of you parents and your culture. But if you don't follow your own path, it will be more difficult to be happy with your life.
2 :
follow your passion what makes it difficult is you live at home and who is paying for college well good luck
3 :
You need to ask yourself if you want to be happy or just go through life trying to get through one day at a time? Life can be very long if you choose to go through it this way. If it was me I would follow my heart. If you have the courage, passion and desire to succeed at what you really want to do in life then go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Emily, There are times it's difficult to see the "Down the road" value of things .. I can tell you your parents are trying the best way they know to prepare you for a changing world ... the nursing career path is one where you can always have work .... But I see it's not your passion. You have to temper what your heart wants with what will pay the bills and feed you. Choose a path that you can live with ... at least study for both your dream and a practical skill ..... Perhaps where you are your heart chosen path may be hiring .... Here graphic designers are a dime a dozen .. and the field is hard to break into..... Where Nursing is always hiring. What ever you choose ... do it for you. Your parents will still love you, they may get frustrated for a bit, but life is like that ... Your becoming and adult ... not just a bigger child. Best wishes & good luck.

If I had already invested 3 yrs. in the nursing program, I would finish it. You should be about finished right? All I can say is that I had a friend who started in nursing, and she too quit to follow her passion( cosmetology). She has commented frequently that she wished she had followed through. It is difficult for her to make ends meet sometimes now that she is married, and has children. You're young enough to learn more than one skill if that's what you decide you want to do. You will understand your parent's decision a little later on. This would be a secure, well paying skill to have under your belt. 90% of people don't like their jobs. That's why we call it work.
6 :
Wow you sound just like me 5 years ago my parents were so stricked and tried to run my life my father is a minister and wanted me to follow in his footsteps even though I wanted to study and work with animals I finally stood my ground and even though they flipped out I felt soo good!. I am so happy now. You have to do what you love or you will hate your life. It is YOUR life not there'ss. I hope everything works out for you!
7 :
It is time to sit down with your parents and have a heart to heart discussion with them. Let them know that you are highly respectful of them.,but you are wanting to make some of your life choices on your own. Be very honest, tell them you are not interested in being a nurse. Tell them you want to be a graphic designer, and explain to them your interest in that career area. However,do not shut them out. Listen vet carefully, and very closely to them when they explain why the would like to see you enter the nursing as a career. Do not get angry and do not raise your voice to them, even if they say things that you do not like. Explain back to them in a calm polite manner that you want to be a graphic designer and that you respectfully ask for their respect and support in return. Good luck to you and i wish you the best . Walter C.
8 :
follow your heart as you will not be happy in a job you don't want to do and you might end up making accidental mistakes
9 :
If you already have a lot of time invested in your nursing program (and are close to graduating) I would go ahead and finish that up before moving on to another degree like graphic design. Think of it this way, if you decide to finish up the nursing, you'll have a good paying job while you go to school. However, I know from experience that being somewhere you don't want to be is extremely depressing. I too followed my parents dream and six months into it was depressed. I've since followed my dream of being a photographer and now attend a small art school.

Why is a B.Sc required for admission into medical school

Why is a B.Sc required for admission into medical school?
I was just curious because I'm planning on going to India for medical school in order to bypass having to obtain a B.Sc in any field in general. My original plan was to get a Bachelors in Nursing and apply to medical school, but after some research I figured out that going to India is also a good option. However, I'm slightly confused, since I wanted to know why a B.Sc is required for entry into medical school. Is it because theres something thats taught in the four years of undergrad that is necessary while studying as a doctor? Because in India, anyone with marks high enough can apply immediately after highschool. Also, on a sidenote, is it wise to take this path, because I don't want to end up practicing in India, as I am planning on coming back to practice in Canada. And if I have to come back, what process do I have to go through in order to be able to practice medicine in Canada with a degree in India?

You can have any degree to get into medical school. Just do the prerequisites. It is hard to come back to canada to practice. only something like 10% is able to come back. A couple of my friends went to medical school in the carribeans and they are stuck practicing in usa.

You need to first get into med school. In India, being a nurse has no advantages for getting into med school. After you finish you MBBS, internship, cardiology & surgery specializations (MS), then you become a full-fledged cardio-thoracic surgeon. It will take 10+ years assuming you already have admission into a Med School. My uncle is a cardiologist (no longer doing surgeries, though). He finished Med school in 1975 (Med School in India is 4.5 years). He did not finish his fellowships, etc, in Universities till 1980, before he was a cardiologist. So it took him 10 years, assuming you are as brilliant as him, as he was a topper. In the US, getting into Med school is not that easy either. Med school in the US will cost you over $100K in expenses (living, food, tuition, etc. over 5 years.

Is there scope for nurses in the near future or is it saturated

Is there scope for nurses in the near future or is it saturated?
I am a 30-year-old single girl. I was so passionate about nursing that I quit a job of 10 years. I knew i had to sacrifice my time working a lot when i pursue this degree (BSN) and that my old parents would get less attention.... yet I did all that... I even have a dream of doing masters and end up either as a CRNA or CNM, for which i need real good GPA cz I live in India and I wish to study abroad to get this degree.. so its an extra challenge.. Now, many are telling me that nurses hardly find job these days anywhere and that working conditions are horrible, especially if u r a foriegner, there is always a racial discrimination. This is my passion, I have left everything I had, even my bf broke up with me cz of my passion towards nursing cz he never wanted to marry a nurse.. In India, nurses are treated as second-degree citizens, dumb women by most people... All these are creating a low confidence and fear in me.. I even am screaming at my old parents with not their fault.... Is it true that nurses are no more needed bcz the field is saturated?? I cant let my dreams go of being a CNM.. I guess I just need words from an RN or so and not a person that wud pull me down even more or consider my ethnicity and answer. Thanks for everyone that would answer in advance.

I am not an RN, but I know that until recently hospitals were having a hard time finding enough nurses. Since the economy became so bad, it became harder for nurses to find jobs. Right now it is difficult for anyone to find a job in almost any field. As the economy recovers, however, nurses will find it increasingly easier to get jobs. By the time you finish your education, the economy and the job market may be much better.

Studying medicine in a India after high school

Studying medicine in a India after high school?
I'm currently a senior in highschool who will be graduating this year. I wish to study medicine and I have recently been admitted to many universities/ colleges which offer pre-med as a major. I have also been admitted into a 7-year B.S/D.O program and although I received a scholarship for the undergraduate portion, the medical school tuition is unaffordable that I have been thinking of taking my degree in India. I have looked into the Manipal University which is offering a MBBS degree. I was planning on studying for the MBBS there and then doing my residency in the US. I would be gratefull if someone would help me in this matter withe their opinions. Is the MBBS an undergraduate degree or graduate? Is it worth studying abroad and then coming back to the US to do the residency or should I just stick to the B.S/D.O program? This is so nervewrecking especially since I have to decide within a month.. Sometimes I wonder wether it's all worth it and if I should just do nursing.. Thanks!

Undergraduate. Manipal is an excellent place for medicine. But from my personal experince I find americans find it easier in the eastern bloc countries. Fees are cheaper in the eastern bloc countries.

In India you can be admitted to medical college after completing 12 years of schooling.

Did I make a mistake of choosing to study Nursing

Did I make a mistake of choosing to study Nursing?
I was working for a decade before I made up my mind to go back to school and get a BS degree in Nursing. I dreamed of being a CNM some day... I even got into SUNY for Associates program but I thought a straight 4 years bachelors is better than 2 year program, but I chose India to study cz its a lot cheaper here.. but I guess I made a mistake!! Life sucks in the college I am in. Psychologically, am goin through hell, more than encouraging me, my lecturers just mock most of us, sometimes even use bad language!! There is no life at all, I leave home by 5 30, college starts at 7 am and ends at 6 pm, Mon - Sat!! Its not even human... I reach home pretty late.. I have aged parents.. I really need to finish this program.. but 4 more years scares me... am getting demotivated, tired, frustrated.. :-( Also, I read that nursing jobs are also at risk... by the time I finish my degree, I duno how it would be. I am very keen on applying for my masters degree in US later on; I wish to end up as a CNM.. Is it like this in all Nursing schools? I never socialize now, I have stopped dating, its just school, assignments, and clinical duty......... someone pls say smthing positive for me to move on.... I dont wanna repent after my graduation for leaving a job and choosing to study...... Whats the future of nursing??!!

This is rather blunt and maybe a bit harsh, but here it is: No, you did not make a mistake in choosing nursing, the mistake was made in choosing to attend college in India when you plan to work and go to graduate school in the US. Nursing school and college in general is not like this in the US. Get your butt back over here! You need to learn nursing in a medically-advanced country, not India! As far as being cheaper......go to a state university here in the US....you can usually cover the entire tuition with student loans...... Nursing jobs are not "at risk"......people will always become ill or injured, and not all women can or want to have a home birth. However, you will be competing for jobs in the hospitals with nurses who have earned their degree from an NLN-accredited college or university...not in a country that has pretty much "3rd world" conditions for health care.
2 :
It is unlikely pursuing this degree will get you anywhere. Unless the program is recognized as equivalent to nursing school in the US they will not even recognize the degree. Even if they do it is unlikely that you will have the skills you need to work in most US hospitals. Cut your loses and return to the states and get the Associates degree and then work toward your BSN.

Amit for you US is the better option than Australia. You need to give Toefl for US, it will do for Australia also but IELTS is more preferable if you go to Australia. In Toefl you need to score above 90 from 120 In IELTS you need to score above 7 bands from 9 If you have good command on English than you wont face any trouble to get above scores. If you are goin to US you have also to give GRE thats enterance exams for specialized master courses in US for Science & Engineering. GRE covers Quantitative Application, English with essays, comprehensions and very much about grammar. The line of your study is in much demand in US rathar than Australia. And also you can avail scholarships if your acadamics is good here n if average than you can score good there and apply for scholarship for second semester. Best of Luck dude.

No you wouldn't have to take the whole program over again. RNs are RNs. You will likely only have to take the licensing board exam to eb able to practice in the province that you choose to work in. http://allnurses.com/international-nursing/us-rn-new-340031.html This is a good post to read. It is someone who trained in the USA but wants to work in Canada, I think that some it will apply to you too.

I want to go into nursing and get my BSN degree. Where should I go for school next year once I grad. from hs?
I was thinking of going to CSU Channel Islands but that will take too long. I want to get my bachelor's in about 3-4 yrs. w/out having to wait on a waiting list and the private colleges cost way too much and will be hard to afford. I'm not sure where I should go and my parents are telling me to go to India to study and get the degree, where it will be cheaper and faster. Any suggestions?

India may be ok from the financial persecutive but not from the academic one. Try applying for a nursing assistant position at a hospital in Saudi Arabia. Within a year or two of hard work, you'll have the money to attend the best of universities.

studying nursing in the philippines, did I make the right choice

studying nursing in the philippines, did I make the right choice?
ok so i decided to go to the philippines to study nursing. my demographics are: 18 years old, male, part filipino part chinese, speak about 3-4 languages, am a dual citizen for U.S. and philippines, and just transfered as being a 1st year in 2nd semester to a college in Davao city. i was born in quezon city, philippines, up in the north but my entire family is from the south in Davao City. the history was, after i graduated early from high school in california, i was very sure that i wouldnt be going to the philippines for college and made my way as a sophomore in college as my first year via AP and college courses from community college to San Francisco State University with my major as prenursing (i still had to apply for the nursing school). i had decent grades with a full load (19 units) on me at that time. but my parents really wanted me to go and study in the philippines along with my twin sister and my older sister because it was so much cheaper and my mom said that i can get my BS in nursing faster and if i wanted, i could even get my MSN there due to the economy going bad now especially when my dad will be laid off soon and my mom only working as a nurse. so after a period of being pressured so much i decided to follow their advise and i withdrew from my university wasting money (very expensive in san francisco) and my good grades. i never finished the first semester and immediately flew over to the philippines to begin the 2nd semester of my 1st year (i already had college classes that some got transfered over and recieved credit). Everyone in America says that getting into nursing school all over the country is hard to get into so thats why some of them go out of country to study and those that say studying in other countries such as india, nigeria, or other "poor 2nd world countries" wouldnt be credited to america since they are pretty biased, which is my guess since they havent even tried studying in another country and also shove the idea of education in america is so much better. but then if thats said, i ask myself why do we have people such as doctors with degrees from india and nurse practitioners with degrees from nigeria and eastern europe? i was postitive that it wouldnt happen to me yet i decided to play a gambling game to risk my future in going to the philippines to study. my mom says that it, the schools there, are all credited in america since she graduated from a college in Davao City with a major in nursing and is working as a nurse in america while all her kids are in the philippines. i still have yet to trust that statement but im still continuing my studies here no matter what. i promised myself that i wouldnt turn back, especially in my condition now and will just persevere through my studies here though lots of people envy and hate me for being from america and since im not of pure filipine origin by the looks that i get as a korean or a foreigner. lots of the people here are very judgemental and have a different psyche as compared to the north of the philippines, the south has a totally different environment and isnt really known well to many people outside the world since when they think of the philippines, Manila is ususally the first idea in their mind. many of the filipinos from the south dont even speak tagalog and will treat you different if you're from the north or if you're not white but of another asian origin, especially if you dont know how to speak cebuano. this is what i've experienced so far during my first few weeks of stay in the Davao. my question is, did i make the right choice in coming to study abroad and sacrificed so much such as my friends, my good life, and etc... to come to the philippines? my mom said that i made many sacrifices, and hell i even cried here, but nevertheless, in the future it will all be rewarded even better, i just need to make sure i go through tough times and perservere. its hard for me here because i chose not to go to prestigious and well known schools such as ateneo de davao or university of the philippines but i chose to go to a school where it is filled with transferees, drop outs, no foreingers except for me and my two siblings, and many of the people come from poor family backgrounds living in the dirt slums and provinces as far as the muslim lands. most of the dark skinned filipinos like to laugh and make fun of me bacause im chinese looking and always assume that im korean due to the fact that there are so many koreans and foreigners studying here for english and that i devote most of my time into studying, and when i make donations to the school, everyone assumes that i am immediately rich since i came from America which i am not and also because of the types of clothes that i wear. yet we all are nursing students who all want to work and live a better life abroad in the future and i also think to myself, how can they act that why when they live and work abroad? i doubt that they'll be successful since they all are just

You wont regret where you are into. You can even go to prestigious schools because you are foreign funded. many filipinos if they could afford opted for nursing because it is lucrative job outside Philippines. If i were you i will finish nursing pass the board and study law or business adm. you can study as many courses as you want.

Sorry to tell you "NO" , life in abroad is a missery, beleive me. If you are from Dvao, I suggest agriculture is the best course or in mineral resources related course. have you noticed rich and famous Nurse, no! , if want to be a rich someday try to study Lawyer, Physician, Politico, business management, Nurse is low profile job w/ low salary how can you reach to be rich if your are not rich...........
4 :
You probably could have (as a US Citizen) done this just as cheaply and forgone your now having to take an NCLEX. THe only school in the Philippines that is recognized by ETS (The people who admininster AP tests in the US and graduate exams for universities) is the University of the Philippines. Nothing else. You could have finished Community College's nursing program and gotten established as a nurse. If your main question was "how can they act that why when they live and work abroad", the answer is simple. That is a fatal flaw in the character of the Filipino. THere are several stereotypes that fail to die among our people, and it usually indicates they're true - we love to sing (karaoke), we love drama (look at all the soaps on filipino television), etc.. On the flip side, we also like to gossip (such as in airing dirty laundry), and we suffer from Schadenfreude. That is, one filipino cannot stand to see another filipino more successful than they. Since you're in that country from what many of these poor people look at as "the promised land", you're going to get an expected level of scorn. Call it colleagial envy if you will. But ultimately, unless you fail miserably with the NCLEX, you'll be able to use your skills in nursing in the Philippines and practie your profession here.
5 :
19 units for a full load?! wow! back in the philippines mine was 30 units on average! anyway..... money-wise: YES practicality: YES Language: NO Crowd: NO in your case, sometimes, it depends School: not sure, you didn't mention the name of your school Education: not sure, you didn't mention the name of your school if your aiming for BSN, it's very practical to just get it in the Philippines because its cheaper for the same quality of education (assuming that you're in a good nursing school) you could get in an average nursing school in the US. However, there's so many sub-standard nursing schools sprouting like mushrooms in the philippines that you have to be cautious before enrolling yourself in. if you're in one of these schools, please find a better school; and with good high school grades or good current college grades, it should be easy to be admitted in a good nursing school as long as you have good entrance exam results as well. however, the best nursing schools in the philippines could also be discriminating to other nursing schools and may not accredit units from these schools. While it is true that US hospitals don't discriminate applicants based on what school they were in (as long as you meet the min req like passing the state board; and oh, yes they really don't, that's why there's so many foreign graduate nurses), it doesn't hurt to have the best education you could get. If you're planning to take MAN later on, it would be better to take it in the US. in my opinion, taking MAN without clinical experience and/or no exposure to the field is a definite no-no. your hospital training during your undergrad days just isn't enough, especially that nursing education in the philippines focuses more on the knowledge and concept and not on the hospital area. besides, only a few schools offer MAN where as there's so many in the US. if your going to take MAN, do it in the US while working. MAN classes have more flexible schedules in the US than in the Philippines. aside from that, you could earn more in the US. Why even work in the Philippines for just a wee fraction of what you could earn in the US? Unless you'd like to be one of those few filipino heroes who chose to work in the philippines. well, its your call. hmmm.... about the prejudice, i think you're being a little paranoid. there's so many east-asian looking filipinos out there. only the ignorant fools make fun of the unfamiliar. if you really couldn't handle it, you could transfer in a bigger city where there's less prejudice. if you can speak tagalog, you can transfer to manila. btw, you might have a very hard time on your community health nursing if you can't speak the vernacular language. if you could transfer to manila, there's lots of foreign students (esp chinese and koreans), fil-am (not necessay haffies), oh, and haffies too in some schools. not to mention having the same situation as you are in. some schools even offer special filipino classes for those who barely speak tagalog. for now, just ignore them. i'm sure you'll get used to it over time.

How do I getUS visas for my 2 adopted girls who have highest marks in nursing colleges in Chennai India, KKDt

How do I getUS visas for my 2 adopted girls who have highest marks in nursing colleges in Chennai India, KKDt?
What kind of visa should I seek? They are orphans who adopted me in affectionate love making me their father. After they graduate they want tocome to the US to work as nurses. What benefits are available due to the nursing shortage? Can she get a green card enabling her to work or what? Anybody know? Do you know of any grants or scholarships available? One needs $930 next week for tuition and I dont have it. the other needs the same in August and I don't have that either . Past donors have no money . I have 27 orphan daughters who adopted me and I've been giving all expense paid degrees to most while i am unemployed since 1970 depending on Jesus and divine providence for my needs then give around half of that to give happiness and security to otherwise helpless orphan girls mostly, in south India. 5 just earned master's degrees and got jobs in a week or two. Know of any help or scholarships available for orphans there? I buy houses for orphan mothers there; 180 so far; like to help?

nursing degree from abroad

nursing degree from abroad?
Hi all, My sister-in-law recently came from India. She was a RN in India and now she is planning to work as a nurse in USA, but she is confused about how can she start her career here. Should she do LVN program and then go for RN program or what can she do? does she have to do all her study again or she can sit in NCLex exam. Please suggest something. We live in California(if state needed). thank you.

If you have a degree - or any other qualification - then you'll already be in advace of of the masses when it comes to looking for careers. My friend has a degree and he wasn't sure what direction to go with it, but he stumbled upon some excellent tips on the website in the resource box below which helped him to settle that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is loads of help on the website regarding other careers.

She needs to contact the CA state board of nursing. Google their website. They will also probably have information on their site about foreign-educated nurses so you might not even have to call to find the information you're looking for.

hey, why do u want to work as a nurse when u r a doctor. I believe you can hunt a job in US as a doctor, but clear there state license to practise or try canada.route to US is easy via canada.or else you can hunt a small study course but i believe that would be expensive.good luck
2 :
Sorry, a nurse has their own licensing and education requirements; as do most therapists (physical, respiratory, occupational etc) and Lab technologists. You would have to apply & complete at least a 1 year program to become someone in the Allied Health fields & take the specific exams.

As far as I know, any degree is valid, subject to a couple of courses in the US.. You may be required to complete a certain "core curriculum," such as taking 2 semesters of US and State government, respectively, and US history perhaps.
2 :
I hope none as too many others are invading America as it is. Americans do not have jobs and benefits because of all the immigrants from other countries. Sorry being honest.
3 :
Anything medical is going to require you to take state board exams...But I agree with the previous poster.. enough Indian doctors here already that can't even speak understandable English.
4 :
Uh... it's not the fault of the educated Indians that most Americans are too lazy, too poor or just not smart enough to get into the medical or other professional fields so hospitals here need to hire foreigners (mainly Indians and Russians) to get enough doctors lol.
